How We Keep Campers Safe

A common question we get surrounds around how we care for our campers. This usually has to do with safety and/or medications. We just added a section on our “Info” page to help answer those questions:

How We Keep Campers Safe

All of us on the camp oversight board have kids that are camper age, so we understand the concerns of parents sending their kids to an overnight camp. Here are some of the things we do to keep our kids and your kids safe:

  • We run a background check on all staff members
  • All staff are required to submit a reference letter from their pastor
  • No staff member is allowed to be alone in a cabin with a camper

Medications

We have (a) full-time nurse(s) on the camp grounds along with a robust system in place to make sure every camper gets the medication they need, when they are prescribed to receive it. Our nurse(s) are also great at helping homesick kids enjoy the week by giving out freeze-pops!
